I’m Fran, and I started this recipe blog way back in April of 2011. It was a way of sharing all of my favorite recipes with family and friends. Since I’ve been cooking and baking for over 50 years, that’s a lot of recipes, my fellow foodies!
Truth be told, hubby and I probably used the blog more than anyone else. Despite the fact that he and I can whip up any number of meals from memory, we don’t have the hundreds of recipes I had on my blog memorized.
Much to my distress, my beloved blog crashed at the end of last year. Even though I had regularly updated the software on the hosting platform, it still malfunctioned. I have spent a long time trying to resurrect it and retrieve the over 600 recipes I had posted. The IT people told me that the platform was just too old and that the recipes could not be recovered. Ack!
I’m never happier than when I’m making a favorite meal or dessert—or trying a new recipe for the first time. So, what to do?
After much deliberation, I am beginning anew like the proverbial phoenix. What this means is that I am literally starting a new Fran’s Favs recipe blog from scratch. I am going to have to repost all of the 600+ recipes that I had on my original blog. Although all of the recipes were lost on the hosting platform, I still have them on my hard drive. As you can imagine, this will take a bit of time; but I’m willing to do it.
So, depending on how industrious I am on any given day, I may repost 1, 5, 10 or more of my older recipes. I will intersperse them with new recipes I’ve tried that I think turned out frantastic.
Stay tuned—and, as the song says, “Get out in that kitchen and rattle those pots and pans.”
I know I will be.
